As cabras foram ao museu/ The goats went to the museum

Os The Mountain Goats – banda bastante bem cotada junto do Fusco – visitaram o Museum Of Fine Arts, em Boston, onde tocaram alguns temas, entre os quais «Heretic Pride», «Ain`t Living Long Like This» (cover de Rodney Crowell) e «Sign of the Crow» (inédito composto dias antes desta actuação). Fica o caminho para a performance de John Darnielle e companhia, que este ano nos brindaram comum grande disco: «Heretic Pride».


The Mountain Goats - a very estimated band in Fusco territory – visited the Museum Of Fine Arts, in Boston, where they performed some tracks, including «Heretic Pride», «Ain`t Living Long Like This» (Rodney Crowell`s original) and «Sign of the Crow» (unreleased track composed days before this live show). We live the roads to a John Darnielle & Co. performance, a band that this year presented us with a great record: «Heretic Pride».

«Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!», the newest work from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, deserves that we take our hat off as a sign of emotioned respect. During 11 tracks, Cave achieves to join the anger, the darkness, the love, the hope - and the lack of it -, the irony and the anger that have accompanied him since that, in 1984, he iniciated the musical adventure side by side with the Bad Seeds.

This is a genial, creeping, phantasmagorical and hilarious record, a reflection of the world and of the present time in wich we live in, a summon for the dead to wake up and join us in this irreparable destiny. All perfumed with a high voltage of groove so that, its true intentions, remain forever hidden in the little lines beneath. Fusco leaves the road for the lyrics of a record to which, without any modesty, we offer 4 and a half black holes, able to suck out the light of all the stars in an immense sky.

Com os dois golos de ontem apontados contra o Bolton - um deles um missil com contornos de obra de arte -, Cristiano Ronaldo alcançou a fantástica marca dos 33 (24 na Liga Inglesa, 3 na Taça de Inglaterra e 6 na Liga dos Campeões). O filão Marvel continua a ser explorado até à exaustão. A 13 de Junho, «The Incredible Hulk» invade os grandes ecrãs de todo o planeta, com Edward Norton no papel do herói com a pele verde e extremamente enrugada. O Fusco deixa algumas pistas do que está para chegar.


The Marvel veins continue to be sucked out with no signs of mercy. On the 13th of June, it`s time for «The Incedible Hulk» to invade the big screens worldwide, with Edward Norton as the hero with green and extremely furrowed skin. Fusco leaves some clues for what`s coming.

Um grande bluff/ A big bluff

Na edição de 2006 do Gente Sentada delirámos com a sua mistura de puto travesso e crooner lunático. Discos como "Gemstones" (2005) ou "Jacket Full of Danger" (2006) eram como que um luminoso elogio ao lado mais imbecil e pueril da alma humana, um regresso a uma adolescência descomprometida, irreverente e sem paciência para cumprir horários.

"Sixes & Sevens", longa-duração que vai estar nas lojas no próximo dia 18, começa com Adam Green a armar-se em Jarvis Cocker, rodeado de inesperadas ambiências sonoras. A partir daí tem início uma viagem sem regresso ao planeta do mau gosto, que faz deste o pior disco da carreira de Adam Green. Contando com estes "sixes & sevens" num jogo de poker, só mesmo um gigantesco bluff poderia livrar o rapaz de uns mais que merecidos apuros. Um pesadelo monstruoso a que só mesmo por simpatia oferecemos uma carta e meia numa triste mão de cinco.



In Gente Sentada´s 2006 edition, we had a high with his mixture of a childish kid and a lunatic crooner. Records as "Gemstones" (2005) or "Jacket Full of Danger" (2006) were as a shining praise to the dumbest and pure side of the human soul, a return to an uncompromised, irreverent and impatient adolescence.

"Sixes & Sevens", record to come out on the next 18th, starts with Adam Green trying to sing like Jarvis Cocker, surrounded by unexpected sound environments. From that moment on starts a trip to Tasteless Planet, with tracks so bad that make this the worst record in Adam`s career. Counting with this "sixes & sevens" in a poker game, only a gigantic bluff could save this boy from a more than deserved pile of trouble. A monstruous nightmare to wich we offer - for sympathy - a card and a half in a sad five-hand.

Praia sagrada/ Holy beach

Em 2007, o sermão mais arrojado foi-nos dado por Rickie Lee Jones, através da leitura do livro de salmos «The Sermon on Exposition Boulevard». Este ano, não querendo ficar atrás na arte de pregar a palavra sagrada, os Beach House vestiram o hábito e avançaram com a continuação do Novo Testamento, a que deram o nome de «Devotion».

Se os cânticos de louvor ao senhor seguissem o rumo deste orgão sentimental e desta guitarra lacrimejante, as igrejas andariam a rebentar pelas costuras, sem espaço para acolher tantos fiéis reunidos para ouvir a música do Senhor. Três cruzes e meia em cinco e um agradecido amén.



In 2007, the most modern sermon was given to us by Rickie Lee Jones, through the reading of the book of psalms called «The Sermon on Exposition Boulevard». This year, wishing not to stay behind the art of preaching the Lord`s word, os Beach House dressed up like priest and nun and continued the writing of the New Testament, named by them as «Devotion».

If the songs that praise the Lord followed the balance of this sentimental organ and this crying guitar, churches would be fully packed, with no room for so many believers reunited to hear the Lord`s music. Three and a half crosses and a thankfull Amen.
