E eis que a primeira etapa do
Grand Slam, disputada na
terra dos cangurus, se transformou numa caixinha de surpresas.
Novak Djokovic atingiu a final fazendo parar o relógio suiço, mostrando que é ele, e não Nadal, a maior ameaça ao trono de ouro onde Federer parece estar sentado há uma eternidade.
Já que falamos de Nadal, o espanhol foi trucidado pelo quase desconhecido
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. O francês, na sua quinta presença num torneio do Grand Slam, atingiu a final do
Australian Open depois de derrotar Andrew Murray, Sam Warburg, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Richard Gasquet, Mikhail Youzhny e Rafael Nadal. Com apenas 22 anos, Tsonga tem-se revelado um jogador bastante completo: um serviço potente, boa capacidade de resposta, grande potência de pancada, excelente jogo de rede - um fenómeno em potência. Se derrotar o sérvio na final, arriscamos dizer que se tornará rapidamente num dos top 10 do circuito.

Ana Ivanovic e
Maria Sharapova.

Australian Open final afterr beating Andrew Murray, Sam Warburg, Guillermo Garcia-Lopez, Richard Gasquet, Mikhail Youzhny and Rafael Nadal. With only 22 years, Tsonga has revealed himself a complete player: powerfull serve, good response, strong shots, excellent net game - a bomb ready to explode. If he beats the serbian at the final, we risk to say he will shortly reach the top 10.
As for the women`s final, it will oppose the two prettiest players on the circuit: Maria Sharapova e Ana Ivanovic.
